Tap the orb once. iPhone Safari often blocks audio until a tap in that same moment — tap Play again if the first try was silent. Then Add to Home Screen so the night can keep going when you leave Safari.

The browser tab went to sleep. Install Sounds (Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen, or Chrome → Install app). Overnight hold is on by default. Android: Settings → Apps → Sounds → Battery → Unrestricted. On a Mac, Add to Dock, then close the lid once as a check.

While it is playing, pause and skip sit on the lock screen and in Control Center. The timer is the progress bar. If that row is missing, install the PWA and leave Overnight on — a background Safari tab will not keep it.

Bluetooth headphones speak when the stream dies — that is the phone, not us. Install the PWA and leave Overnight on so the stream does not die. If it still talks, keep the phone speaker on the nightstand.

Timers fade for 90 seconds. They do not hard-cut. Pick All night if you want it to hold until you pause. Wake at 7:00 is a clock, not bedtime math.

Sleep-safe is on by default and ducks the rumble. Mix → Mute thunder, or play Heavy rain — that preset has no thunder at all. That is the YouTube comment we kept reading.

Start around 60 on the slider — conversational, roughly 50 dB. Sleep researchers flag all-night noise above that. First play fades in so the first tap does not jump.

When the timer ends we fade to silence so a phone alarm can come through. A call takes the audio session; we resume when you come back. We do not play over the ringer on purpose.

No and no. Play, timer, mix, and last night live on this device. We do not run ads, review nags, or a sleep paywall. Sign in only if you want nights on another phone.

There is no sample loop. Rain, hush, and fan are generated live (Tone.js), so there is no click at the end of a 12-second file. Oscillation keeps it from flattening. No seagulls, no words, no music.

After a few seconds of no touch, the screen dims and the video pauses. Cinema is darker still. Procedural audio uses a little CPU — dim and a charger overnight is the honest setup.

Conversational or below. Masking sound is not a treatment for insomnia, apnea, or depression, and it is not a baby monitor.
